On April 3, IDC Consulting released the "Following Report on the Chinese X86 Server Market in the Fourth Quarter of 2019" (hereinafter referred to as the "Report").

"Report" shows that after experiencing negative growth in the first three quarters, the growth rate of shipments rebounded in the fourth quarter of 2019, with shipments of 939,934 units, an increase of 5.1% year-on-year; the market size was 5.279 billion US dollars (about 36.853 billion RMB), an increase of 6.3% year-on-year.
In addition, in the whole year of 2019, China's X86 server market shipped 3,177,540 units, a year-on-year decline of 3.8%; the market size was US $ 17.684 billion (approximately RMB 122.59 billion), an increase of 2.9% year-on-year. From the perspective of manufacturers, the top three vendors are Inspur, Huawei and Xinhua III, with shipments of 28.7%, 16.4% and 13.1% respectively.

IDC also pointed out that the Chinese server market in 2019 will show the following characteristics:
1. Ultra-large customers have become the main buyers in the X86 server market, and show a trend of further concentration.
2. The acceleration of hybrid IT and cloud computing trends has a significant impact on the technological innovation and deployment model of the server market.
New applications and deployments have driven the growth of IT infrastructure, including servers, while increasing computing speed and accelerating application delivery time have also made computing power the key to digital transformation.

For the 2020 forecast, IDC said that China's X86 server market shipments will grow by 2.9% in 2020. With the market demand picking up after the epidemic is over and the country will accelerate the construction of new infrastructure in seven major areas, such as 5G, big data centers, industrial Internet, and artificial intelligence, the demand for China's X86 server market will remain relatively strong in the next few years. The compound growth rate in 2024 will reach 9.1%.
